Traditionally mosaics were made of small cubes of stone or glass enamel in varying colours, in fact, for almost 5,000 years the material has been used to both reinforce floors and to make them decorative. Walls that need to be water resistant in particular benefit from the use of mosaics, as they are so simple to wipe and to clear away any moisture. Glass and ceramic are both fantastic for adding colour and pattern to a scheme whilst still being wholly practical. The Claybrook design crew have found a number of gorgeous well-priced mosaics that work brilliantly used alone or as a complement to other finishes like marble or porcelain.
